Weekly GCSE Science Exam Practice – Biology Paper 1
A recorded GCSE Science Exam Practice session focused on Biology Paper 1: microscopy, the heart and photosynthesis.
Students begin with a clean set of exam-style questions to attempt independently. They then work through the recording with me, learning how to interpret each question, select the relevant science and build answers that gain marks. Ideal for mock revision, this session combines key Biology knowledge with practical, calculation and graph skills.
This week’s session covers:
-
Microscopy required practical: preparing onion cell slides and explaining the method
-
Magnification calculations, rearranging equations and converting units
-
The double circulatory system, heart structures and the natural pacemaker
-
Comparing arteries and veins and linking their structure to their function
-
Photosynthesis required practical: investigating the effect of light intensity
-
Plotting graphs, choosing scales and drawing a curve of best fit
-
Describing trends, identifying control variables and explaining limiting factors
-
Command words and writing clear scientific explanations
Included:
-
A printable exam-style question workbook
-
An approximately 47-minute recorded walkthrough
-
Fully annotated answers to download after completing the session
