Weekly GCSE Science Exam Practice – Physics Paper 1
A recorded GCSE Science Exam Practice session focused on Physics Paper 1: energy resources, atomic structure and electrical resistance.
Students begin with a clean set of exam-style questions to attempt independently. They then work through the recording with me, learning how to interpret each question, select the relevant science and build answers that gain marks. Ideal for mock revision, this session combines key Physics knowledge with data interpretation, calculations, graph skills and extended scientific explanations.
This week’s session covers:
-
Energy stores and transfers: describing energy changes in vehicles
-
Renewable and non-renewable energy resources, including biofuels
-
Interpreting electricity generation data and drawing valid conclusions
-
Evaluating the environmental impacts and costs of renewable energy resources
-
Atomic structure: alpha particles, atomic number, mass number and neutrons
-
The alpha particle scattering experiment and the development of the nuclear model
-
Tackling a 6-mark extended response using experimental evidence
-
Electrical circuits: resistors in parallel and measuring potential difference
-
Explaining how resistance changes in parallel circuits
-
Selecting equations from the Physics Equations Sheet and calculating potential difference
-
Converting milliamps to amps and showing clear calculation steps
-
Plotting and interpreting resistance graphs, including curves of best fit
-
Command words, exam technique and writing clear scientific explanations
Included:
-
A printable exam-style question workbook
-
An approximately 45-minute recorded walkthrough
-
Fully annotated answers to download after completing the session
Suitable for AQA Combined and Separate Science students in Years 10 and 11. The content is focused on Higher Tier expectations, including extended-response questions, electrical calculations and graph interpretation, although much of it is also relevant to Foundation Tier students.
Please note: this is a recorded session, not a live lesson.
